**About the Role**:
As a Mechanical Fitter and Turner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Bedford’s manufacturing and production facilities. Reporting to the Group Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance of timber and bakery machinery, while also working across multiple Bedford sites. You will collaborate with a team of skilled fitters and electricians, supporting the business as it expands into new facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on timber and bakery machinery.
- Ensure the installation and maintenance of new plant and equipment.
- Develop improvements and enhancements for existing machinery and production processes.
- Maintain accurate job sheets and records for all work completed.
- Provide technical support to operational teams to optimise efficiency.
- Liaise with managers and supervisors to coordinate maintenance schedules and prevent mechanical breakdowns.
- Design and manufacture special aids and jigs to assist in production processes.
- Maintain compliance with Bedford policies and safety standards.

**About You**:
To succeed in this role, you will be a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter and Turner with strong experience in plant and equipment maintenance. You will have a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, along with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Other key skills and attributes include:

- Trade qualification in Fitting and Turning or equivalent.
- Several years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across Bedford sites.

For this role, the following documents must be provided prior to a formal offer:

- National Police Clearance (no older than six months).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Proof of completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Medical clearance to undertake physical aspects of the role.
- Valid Driver’s Licence and ability to travel between sites.
- Australian work rights and 100 points of identification.
