You will join us as a** Procurement Specialist **responsible for leading and managing procurement activities, developing sourcing strategies, and optimising supplier relationships to ensure ATCO Australia achieves the best value and maintains a resilient supply chain. By providing expert advice, negotiating contracts, and implementing risk management strategies, the Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in driving efficiency, mitigating risks, and contributing to the overall success of ATCO’s procurement function.

What you will contribute to:

- Leading and managing procurement activities, including developing sourcing strategies, conducting tender processes, and negotiating and executing contracts.
- Developing market intelligence, staying updated on supply chain vulnerabilities, and building a preferred supplier network for current and future requirements.
- To optimise value, providing advice and guidance on sourcing-related issues, including contracting strategies, negotiation tactics, and supplier management.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all internal and external levels, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Proactively engaging with suppliers to understand their capabilities, assess performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Leading contract management activities, including conducting review meetings, monitoring supplier performance, and managing spending effectively.
- Identifying and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate supplier-related risks and ensuring supply chain resilience.
- Staying informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks that may impact procurement activities.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.

What you will bring:

- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related discipline, is beneficial but not essential.
- 5+ years of experience and strong knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, best practices, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with strategic sourcing, tender processes, contract negotiation, and contract management is essential.
- Understanding the utilities or energy infrastructure industries is beneficial, including knowledge of supply chain dynamics, market trends, regulatory requirements, and awareness of potential risks and vulnerabilities in the supply chain.
- Demonstrated experience in managing supplier relationships, including assessing supplier capabilities, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering long-term partnerships. Knowledge of supplier qualification processes, supplier development strategies, and vendor management techniques is important.
- Proficiency in contract management practices, including drafting and reviewing contracts, monitoring compliance, and managing contract modifications. Understanding legal and commercial terms and the ability to negotiate favourable terms and conditions is valuable.
- Proven expertise as a confident negotiator, capable of engaging and negotiating with stakeholders at various levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, showcasing skill in influencing and resolving disputes.
