About the position *
Workingfull time, the Workplace Health and Safety Lead will assist the business in driving a culture that supports commitment to health, safety and well-being of our Employees and Apprentices. A focus on implementation and maintenance of best practice Workplace Health and Safety processes and procedures including facility wide audits, initiatives to prevent workplace incidents and management of Apprentice workplace injuries.

**In this Role, you will be..**
- Contributing to PEERs goal of Best Practice in WHS Management
- Coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the WHS Management Systems
- Managing the WHS compliance requirements of our GTO operation including regular visits to our clients
- Ensure PEER achieves compliance with all statutory, regulatory and all other mandatory requirements
- Responsible for managing safety, wellbeing and training programs for apprentices, trainees and corporate staff
- Host Employer Risk Assessments, compliance and Industry Engagement

**To be successful it is essential that you can demonstrate the following**:

- Experience and qualifications in WHS (Certificate IV or higher) within a technical trade-based environment.
- Demonstrated organisation and facilitation skills with high-level of listening, comprehension and verbal plus written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with people at all levels and develop productive working relationships with both staff, external stakeholders and regulators.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work innovatively and strategically to achieve outcomes.
- Capacity to work autonomously with high level of initiative and accountability and as part of a team under broad direction with competing priorities.
- Data analysis and report writing skills supported by strong computer skills with experience in Student Management Systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheet, and Internet.
- Currently possess and/or have the ability to obtain required certifications/clearances (Working with Children, Police Clearance (State and Federal), Site-Specific Inductions, White Card, etc).
- Mental Health First Aid Accreditation or equivalent highly regarded.

Salary will be negotiated based on previous experience and skill set, metropolitan travel is required with the position including a tool of trade vehicle. PEER is a flexible workplace and is able to offer condensed working days and working from home.
