**Data Governance Analyst**

**About the role**:
The purpose of the Data Governance Analyst role is to manage and support the implementation of Suncorp’s Data Governance Framework and supporting standards across the Procurement division.

This role acts as the lead for uplifting procurements data maturity and compliance by effectively:

- Liaising with the group data Governance team to ensure compliance with the Suncorp group data governance framework and supporting standards
- Designing and implementing processes aligned to the Group Data Governance Framework, to embed strong data governance practices across the Procurement division
- Supporting correct data classification by procurement team members to ensure data is handled appropriately to safeguard the group and its customers
- Responsible for education & training across the procurement division with regards to data governance roles, accountabilities, processes, and procedures
- Contributing and co-ordinating upkeep of the Suncorp central data dictionary (Collibra), and understands procurements current reporting, data, and system landscape

**More specifically, you will**:

- Support the development and maintenance of Procurement data flows, systems lineage, and reporting metadata, using data governance toolsets (Collibra)
- Technically analyse, define, and document business logic for Procurement data assets
- Lead and support Procurement to design processes for the appropriate treatment of data, ensuring compliance with Suncorp Policies, Frameworks, and standards.
- Define performance indicators and quality metrics to ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles, and responsibilities
- Facilitate & manage process changes aligned to data maturity and compliance uplift
- Provide support as the conduit between Procurement teams and Technology and Transformation for data and system governance requirements
- Work alongside data & analytics teams to ensure data related business requirements consider data governance best practice and are clearly defined, communicated, and understood
- Acts as Procurement Data Steward delegate, and responsible for status reporting for data and system governance programs of work to management
- Drives the maturity and compliance program to uplift understanding of Data Risk, support the business in closing compliance gaps, and champion the processes embedded to improve data governance across the Procurement division
- Attends and participates in Group Data Governance Council and ICO Data Steward forums as the representative for Procurement.
- Develop and deliver targeted education and training materials with an objective of uplifting the maturity and compliance of data governance for Procurement

**About You**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology and/or Business equivalent industry experience desired
- 3+ years’ experience financial services with a strong focus on Data, Systems, Reporting, Risk, Compliance and/or Governance (mandatory)
- Data Governance toolset experience Collibra / RDM (preferred)
- Business Analyst / Data Analyst experience (preferred)
- Understanding of Business intelligence tools such as Tableau/Cognos/SQL (preferred)
- Understanding of Systems, data flows and reporting configurations (preferred)
- Understanding of Suncorp Policies, Frameworks and Standards (preferred)
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and forward-thinking skills. (preferred)
- Experience in business process mapping (preferred)
- Superior stakeholder skills, including co-ordination of projects (preferred)

**Key Capabilities**:

- Experience with owning and delivering a project end to end, including planning, implementation, change management and closure (Self-starter)
- Experience as an SME, able to deliver engaging training sessions at all levels (Strong presentation skills)
- Enthusiasm for data governance as a concept and the ability to share across Procurement in an engaging way
- Develop robust solutions and structures aligned to key risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Experience in BI and database analysis
- Experience in detailed report definition documentation
- Analytical, design and consultative skills
- Ability to manage business stakeholder expectations
- Ability to co-ordinate and communicate effectively with all levels.
- Ability to recognise, understand and support the need for change
- Ability to assess the risk profile for an individual task/project and advise accordingly
