**Your new role**

Reporting to the Cloud Operations Manager, the Monitoring Specialist is a hands-on technical specialist role, focusing on the operational management and support of the Fund’s infrastructure performance & availability monitoring platforms, including Azure Monitor and Auvik. This role includes operational management, support, and continuous improvement, as well as ensuring alignment to the Funds processes, standards, and best practices.

The role will actively champion continuous improvement to ensure monitoring platforms remain current and monitoring and alerting is being constantly enhanced to provide real time visibility of issues as they occur. The role includes working collaboratively with other Technology Services colleagues, including architects, systems engineers, and delivery teams.

Some key responsibilities include:

- Provide operational management of the Fund’s technology monitoring platforms, including management of build and configuration activities and lifecycle management.
- Develop performance and availability monitoring and alerting capability by defining and implementing monitoring dashboards, setting thresholds, and defining events.
- Develop and implement event management processes and procedures.
- Ensure integration of monitoring and alerting platforms to key ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) and paging systems (e.g., XMatters)
- Manage and maintain documentation for all monitoring systems.

**What you’ll need**
- 8+ years’ experience in technical positions, including prior experience in monitoring roles, ideally in a complex technical environment.
- Excellent and demonstrable technical knowledge, hands-on experience and understanding of Azure Monitor capabilities including:

- Metrics Explorer and Log Analytics
- App Insights
- Dashboarding and Workbooks
- Alerts and Actions
- Microsoft PowerBI
- AMA, MMA/OMS agents
- Understanding and working knowledge of ITIL and other relevant ITSM frameworks
- Experience in a fast-growing technology function or company
- Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify issues and areas for improvement through analysis.
- Innovative, creative and curious with a strong growth mindset
- Collaborative, articulate and persuasive.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to believe in and work towards the enterprise purpose and vision.
