**About the opportunity**

Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC) is looking for a passionate and dedicated Animal Attendant to join our dynamic and supportive team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will play a key role in the daily care, enrichment, and wellbeing of our animals, while working alongside a committed team of staff and volunteers. **Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Relevant qualifications in an appropriate field
- Significant experience in handling companion animals
- Current class C driver’s licence.

**Desirable**:

- Qualified microchip implanter
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of animal care and welfare issues
- Developed verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to drive manual vehicle
- Experience in handling livestock.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,197.30 per week
- 38-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
