Ascent Professional Services is an engineering consultancy that supports the Australian Defence Force by supplying them with expert engineering contractors, specialising in Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance.
(Yes, it actually IS rocket science)

Being a newly created role, there is wiggle room to mould the position around the right person’s skills and ambitions, but here is what you will typically be working on:
- Designing presentations, posters, flyers, banners business cards etc
- Develop organic content for LinkedIn
- Analyse and report on digital marketing activities
- Create blogs and news articles
- Create quality graphic design and video content
- Assist with public relations activities including press releases and award submissions
- Create and update branded templates and other marketing content
- Create internal newsletters
- Event and conference management
- Assisting in travel and accommodation bookings
- Ad hoc marketing and administration tasks

**The non-negotiable skills and qualities you need to have are**:
- A completed or in-progress qualification in design or marketing, or relevant experience in a similar role
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and InDesign
- Basic knowledge of digital marketing and the current social media landscape - especially on LinkedIn
- A high-level of computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office
- A keen eye for detail - no mistake slips past your eagle eyes
- An eye for good design aesthetics and layouts
- The ability to stay true to a brand - the ability to take design direction from branding guidelines and create showstopping designs within an established framework
- Excellent English proficiency in both written and spoken communication
- The ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities, and work across numerous projects at any one time
- The ability to manage projects and deadlines
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
There are some skills that would be beneficial for you to have from the get-go, but if you don’t we will help you develop them.
They include:
- Experience in organic LinkedIn marketing strategies
- Video and audio editing skills
- A basic understanding of WordPress and Elementor Pro
- Experience in EDM software
- Experience in public relations, including writing award entries and press releases
- Experience in or knowledge of basic SEO principles
