**The opportunity**:
Visy Board Truganina is seeking an experienced leader to oversee and manage the operations of our manufacturing facility. As the **Operations Manager**, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant. Your role will encompass all aspects of manufacturing, including health, safety, environmental compliance, production management, financial performance, and the leadership of a diverse team.

In this dynamic role, you will:

- Ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
- Oversee production processes to meet operational targets.
- Manage budgets, costs, and P&L performance.
- Lead quality control and technical interactions.
- Support customer service excellence.
- Handle HR and industrial relations, including recruitment and staff development.

Reporting to the **State Operations Manager**, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- **Health, Safety & Compliance**: Ensure a safe working environment, manage incidents, and oversee adherence to safety regulations.
- **Manufacturing Process**: Oversee production, staff, materials, and meet productivity and waste reduction targets.
- **Cost & Financial Management**: Manage costs, budgets, and ensure financial targets are met.
- **Quality Assurance**: Maintain product quality standards and manage technical aspects of production.
- **Customer Service**: Ensure operations meet customer expectations and service levels.
- **HR & Industrial Relations**: Oversee recruitment, staff development, and union engagement, addressing workplace relations and injury management.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Strong leadership skills, with a focus on safety and compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end production processes in a fast-paced setting ideally from a fibre/ corrugated background.
- A track record of achieving financial targets and optimizing operational costs.
- Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, Safety, Quality).
- Experience handling HR and industrial relations matters, including union negotiations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
