Join Maxima and the City of Adelaide in a hands-on traineeship within Arboriculture

In 2021 Adelaide was named the third most liveable city in the world and it is no surprise that the City of Adelaide had a large role in receiving that title. The City of Adelaide encompasses the Adelaide CBD and North Adelaide areas and is home to over 20,000 residents. With lush park lands, vibrant laneways, and events galore on offer, what’s not to love?

Across 3-years you will work fulltime, getting your hands dirty and receiving paid and practical work experience, all whilst studying towards a nationally recognised **Certificate III in Arboriculture**.

**Culture and Benefits**:

- Rostered Day Off (RDOs) once a fortnight

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Trim and chip/mulch trees
- Tree removal
- Pest and weed control
- Undertake appropriate climbing techniques
- Use of relevant machinery including chainsaws and woodchippers

**We’re looking for individuals who**:

- Enjoy working in the outdoors and working with garden tools
- Are committed, reliable and hardworking
- Manage and prioritise time and tasks effectively
- Work effectively in a team with good communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude, and display initiative
- Able to follow directions and work under limited supervision

**Role Requirements**:

- Provisional or full driver’s licence and own vehicle (required)
- Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience in gardening or similar trade advantageous
