As an OCS (Operational Control Systems) Security Control Team Leader, you’ll be managing the day-to-day activities of your team to keep our operational control systems functional, which is vital to maintain smooth and reliable technologies that keep our passengers safe and informed. Acting as front-line support, you’ll put your problem-solving skills to work by triaging and remediating system and device issues, ensuring our systems perform to their required targets.

We operate a vast array of control system technologies ranging from quite old to world leading, meaning you’ll never get bored - this includes Victoria’s largest IP based CCTV network and advanced audio communication systems. You’ll also be exposed to some level 1 and 2 server and network infrastructure works, as well as conducting maintenance across our extensive network.

Previous experience working in a railway environment certainly isn’t a mandatory requirement, we’ll make sure you’re extensively trained with all the skills needed for you to work safely and effectively in one of the country’s greatest railway networks.

**This position is an EBA role based at our North Melbourne maintenance depot, predominately working on a Monday to Friday basis. Some weekend and shift work is required, along with the requirement to work some overtime.**

**Main duties include**:
- Lead and motivate a team carrying out defect rectification and planned maintenance activities to ensure the functionality and availability of OCS assets meet pre-defined service levels. This includes working in field environments, inclement weather (where safe), low light areas, tunnel communications rooms etc.-
- Provide advice and guidance to less experienced team members regarding technical systems knowledge and Metro train’s procedures and policies.-
- Based on experience and solid technical foundation, review and identify improvements in process and efficiencies in work practices.-
- Flexibility to be available 24/7 for urgent default rectification/planned maintenance works.-
- Conduct and document scheduled maintenance activities across a variety of Operational Control System technologies.-
- Liaise with numerous stakeholders and operational staff, interpreting fault descriptions and issues.-
- Perform tests, measurements, and investigations to repair faults on OCS assets and systems. This may be in the absence of detailed or current documentation.**About you**:
**Mandatory**:
- Tafe or Trade qualification in Electronics / Telecommunications or equivalent.-
- Experience working across multiple systems including security systems, communications, IP CCTV, audio systems, structured cabling etc.-
- Proficient with the use of hand and test tools / equipment applicable to the duties.-
- Demonstrated industry experience supporting field-based systems, preferably in a critical infrastructure or utilities environment.- **Preferred**:
- ACMA Open Cabling Registration.-
- Working at Heights Certification.-
- Victorian Security Individual Registration.-
- Exposure to enterprise asset management systems.-
- MS server and Linux OS knowledge-
- Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and technical drawings.-
- Sound organisational and work management skills, in particular the ability to meet their objectives and produce deliverables within agreed timelines.**Ready to apply? Great**
