Aruma, a leading disability services provider, is seeking an Assurance Coordinator to support the Assurance team in reducing non-compliance risk and promoting customers' rights to access personal information. As the Assurance Coordinator, you will handle all third-party requests to access personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles, Privacy Act 1988, and Aruma Policies and Procedures.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide administrative assistance to the Assurance team.
- Maintain the assurance database and report monthly statistics to the Assurance Manager.
- Provide expert advice and support to internal stakeholders, customers, and their families seeking to access personal information.
- Receive and record all requests for access to information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles, Privacy Act and Aruma Policies.
- Refer decisions related to complex cases to the Privacy Officer.
- Provide redaction assistance to the Privacy Officer and Legal team.
- Build effective internal networks and positive working relationships.
- Assist to improve and implement Aruma’s information access processes to ensure Aruma is meeting its legal and statutory privacy obligations.
- Provide support to the Assurance team to monitor and promote compliance.
- Provide support to Assurance Manager to plan and mobilize new projects.
- Building compliance awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the organisation.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Good written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and build sustainable relationships, working proactively with people of all levels.
- Computer literacy skills and confidence in using systems and technology to redact a vast quantity of records.
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing and redacting diverse information.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills to manage multiple requests within the set timeframe.
- Strong commitment to privacy and confidentiality when handling sensitive material.
- Demonstrates good judgment and commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.
- A positive and contemporary attitude to people with a disability, their families, and carers.
- Experience in release of information, privacy, or compliance.
- Knowledge of the Australian Privacy Principles and/or Privacy Act.
- Experience using redaction software.
- Experience using SharePoint.
