**Hospital Medical Officer**
- Location: Footscray or Sunshine

**About the role**- Rotations available between August 2025 to February 2026 are limited to current gaps within our training streams (General, Surgical and Medical streams).
- The opportunity to discuss length of contract (3, 6, 12 and 18 months) and 2026 clinical year rotations will be available at interview.- Western Health offers a supported training environment where Senior Medical Staff make an effort to know you personally.
- Junior doctors are also supported by dedicated Directors of Clinical Training and Medical Education Officers.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Participate in on-going assessment of competencies via a mid and end of term unit assessment
- Work under the supervision and support of the registrar or consultant to further develop general clinical and decision-making skills
- Assume responsibility for patient care in accordance with the care model of the ward/unit, ensuring that clinical procedures are performed in accordance with Western Health policy and procedure
- Ensure quality patient care via clinical assessment, admissions and development of management plans

**About you**:

- Hold or be eligible for medical registration with AHPRA
- Have completed a minimum of 1 year full time medical employment post Primary Medical Degree (MBBS), and
- Meet AHPRA's recency of practice requirements for medical registration.
