Red Cartel is one of Australia’s leading Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), 3D animation and game development studios, specializing in creating high quality and immersive visual content. Over 21 years experience servicing a large and diverse number of industries including advertising, gaming, military, law enforcement, telecommunications, e-commerce, construction, healthcare and government.

We are looking for a full time real-time 3D artist to work mostly on our expanding VR projects, focusing on high quality visuals and optimal performance.

**Essential requirements**:

- Ability to create and modify game-ready assets for unwrapping, optimal poly count, draw calls, etc (realistic style highly preferred).
- Experience with a game engine (materials, lighting, etc). Unity preferred but other engines accepted.
- Portfolio demonstrating your experience (please specify your role in each project).

**Nice to have but not essential**
- Self-improvement and troubleshooting skills without constant supervision.
- Experience with mobile development and optimization (mobile VR preferred).
- Experience with profiling and optimization of games (atlasing, reducing draw calls, improving geometry, optimizing shaders and materials, etc).
- Writing and optimizing shaders (Shaderlab preferred)
- Experience baking PBR models from high to low poly.
- Having a released app on the market (VR preferred).
- Experience with Blender preferred, but most 3D software packages are fine.

**Responsibilities**
- Modification and optimization of existing assets.

To be successful in this position you will have the ability to work within time constraints and have a positive and proactive attitude. This position will be primarily in our Brookvale office on Sydney’s Northern Beaches with occasional remote work, which will vary on an as-needed basis.

**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- No weekends
