**Salary range**: $154,584 to $180,657 per annum + 13% bonus contract loading + 13% super + private use vehicle with parking space.

**About the role**:
The City of Hobart is seeking a visionary and values-driven People and Culture leader to deliver contemporary, integrated workforce strategies that support a high-performing, inclusive and future-ready organisation.

This is a pivotal role in a period of cultural and operational evolution. We’re looking for someone who brings strength, perspective and resilience, and who thrives in complexity—turning challenge into opportunity.

This is a key senior role with broad impact across organisational strategy, leadership capability, employee experience, and workplace culture. Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, you'll lead a group of specialist teams across HR, Learning and Development, Payroll, and Work Health and Safety (WHS).

**About you**:
**What you'll lead**:

- The design and delivery of progressive people strategies, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, leadership development, culture, inclusion, wellbeing, and performance
- The continued evolution of systems and processes that simplify complexity, enable agility, and empower decision-making across the organisation
- A team of 20+ people-focused professionals, with four direct reports and responsibility for a $2.6m operational budget (plus $400K L&D investment)

- Proven senior leadership experience in both strategic and operational HR, ideally in a complex or highly regulated environment

- Deep knowledge of contemporary people practices, employment legislation, and cultural transformation
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and influencing skills
- A passion for public value and a commitment to inclusive, ethical and forward-thinking leadership
