Kuremara provides a wide range of services, programs, and support for people with disabilities, we have over 10 years of experience in leading the delivery of primary health care services in Rural Queensland. We bring together a diverse set of skills from a wide variety of healthcare backgrounds to provide quality support services for our participants.

We currently provide our clients one-on-one support services in the following:

- Daily Activities
- Social Activities
- Assisted in home living
- Community access/participation
- Transport
- Respite Care

We are looking for SW with **fluent English who is relatively young and fit - family prefers -**SW withPacific Islander background, extremely reliable, compassionate, fun, bubbly, hard-working and dedicated to join our team. It is a very rewarding job that will give you the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the community, whilst also developing personal skill.

**Your key role**:
As a Support Worker, you will be providing supports to NDIS funded participants, promoting choice, control and assisting participants in achieving their personal goals, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to participants with **ASD, CPL, PEG Fed and Epilpesy.**

**Role Summary**: As a Disability Support Worker at Kuremara Care, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in their day-to-day living. Your responsibilities will include personal care, domestic assistance, community access, and health and rehabilitation support.

You’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our participants, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting their well-being.

**What You’ll Do**:

- **Personal Care**: From dressing to grooming, you’ll ensure our clients feel comfortable and cared for.
- **Household Support**: Cooking, cleaning, and laundry - you’ll be the helping hand they rely on.
- **Mobility Assistance**: Safely guide clients within their homes, promoting freedom of movement.
- **Social Coordination**: Plan outings, community events, and meaningful interactions.
- **Transportation**: Be the friendly face behind the wheel, ensuring safe trips to appointments.
- **Emotional Support**: Your empathy and understanding will make all the difference.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Personal Care**: Feeding, grooming, dressing, toileting, and showering.
- **Domestic Duties**: Meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping, and cleaning.
- **Medication Management**:

- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and dosage instructions.
- Monitor and document clients' medication intake and any observed side effects.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals regarding medication changes or concerns.
- **Experience Focus**: Experience with PEG tube feeding, medication assistance and personal care.
- **Using various apparatuses,** such as PEG Feeding, to assist clients with nutrition and feeding.
- **High-Intensity Support**: Addressing participants’ high care needs for independent living.
- **Community Inclusion**: Facilitating access to community activities and services, fostering relationships and interests.

**Essential Requirements**:

- **Experience**: Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities is highly desirable.
- **Communication**: Able to effectively communicate in English.
- **Conditions**: Experience with non-verbal, autistic, CPL, epilepsy, PEG Fed.
- **Skills**: Proficient in managing continence aid, hoisting, and mobilization.
- **Driver’s License**: Must have a QLD driver’s license and own reliable transport and comprehensive car insurance.
- **Certifications**: Current Paid employee Blue Card, Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance, First Aid & CPR.
- **Healthcare Experience**: Background in disability support, ASD, CPL (hearing and vision impairment), Epilepsy, PEG feeding and experience supporting people with behaviours of concern (BOC)
- **NDIS Compliance**: Completed ‘Worker Orientation’ module or willing to obtain.
- **Legal Authorization**: Full Australian working rights.
- **Technology**: Smartphone with internet access.
- **References**: Two current professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively under pressure.
- Skilled in multitasking with a keen attention to detail, maintaining composure and focus in fast-paced environments.
- Confident and friendly attitude.
- Ability to communicate sensitively and appropriately.
- Previous employment experience in the health/Disability care sector.
- Strong understanding of NDIS services, policies, and guidelines.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, ensuring efficie
