We are seeking a friendly, self-motivated & energetic team member with a can-do attitude, strong work ethic and desire to learn

Your position will be within our Production Warehouse, assisting with a variety of production and operations tasks. Tasks include processing of timber components, use of hand tools, daily machine maintenance and cleaning, checking, storing and unpacking goods inwards and assisting with maintaining general factory cleanliness.

Direct Office Furniture is a factory direct online store bringing the biggest range and best value to the Australian Office Furniture market.

Cubispec Washroom Solutions provides toilet and shower cubicles, assisting customers from the design phase through to completion.

We all work as a team to meet our customer’s needs; this means you will be required to assist with factory tasks for the other 2 businesses. The 3 business operate out of our Kewdale warehouse.

This role is suitable for someone with or without experience, as long as they have a strong work ethic, are adaptable to change, willing to learn, have a sense of urgency and prioritise safety.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Develop and constantly improve systems related to your position and department to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all time is accounted for via the company’s Time Tracking system.
- Processing of timber components, ie. cutting, edging, gluing, routing, sanding, polishing and assembly.
- Co-operate with Production Manager regarding delivery schedules.
- Cutting using CNC router, Panel saw and Drop saw, if required.
- Use of Edge banding machines for shaped tops, and square tops, if required.
- Set up and operation of hand tools (routers, drills, sanders etc).
- Operate Lift Truck (if qualified).
- General cleanliness of factory.
- Emptying of waste and off cuts.
- Day to day maintenance and cleaning machinery.
- Liaise with Production Manager as to major repairs and maintenance of machinery.
- Checking, storing & unpacking goods inwards.
- Loading and unloading trucks, containers, etc.
- Adhere to company’s Personal safety (PPE) requirements.
- Understand the company’s OH & S policy.

Skills & Experience:

- Experience (desirable).
- Valid Driver’s licence.
- Valid Forklift license (desirable).
- Cabinet making experience/qualifications (desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong, positive work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

This is a Full-time position, 38 hours a week. Our operating days are Monday to Friday, however there is occasional opportunities for weekend work.

The position will be located at our Kewdale warehouse, free parking is available on site.

**Salary**: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Flexible hours
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

**Experience**:

- Cabinet Making or Carpentry: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver Licence (preferred)
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
- White Card (preferred)
