**YOUR ROLE**

IAG have a rare opportunity for a Commercial Underwriter to join our Commercial SME Underwriting Team. This role is tailored for individuals who thrive in high-performance team settings and relish collaborative work environments.

As a Commercial Underwriter, your role entails regular communication with brokers, placing a strong emphasis on cultivating relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Your collaborative efforts within the team are instrumental in producing high-quality technical underwriting outcomes.

In addition to the above, your key responsibilities include understanding the Commercial SME business plan and how your role contributes to its realisation. You will underwrite insurance risks in alignment with product guidelines and portfolio strategy, ensuring timely service outcomes for partners and stakeholders. Building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is ensuring adherence to nationally agreed policies and protocols in operational procedures. You will also play a pivotal role in referring more complex risks to Lead Underwriters or those with higher underwriting licenses.

**ABOUT YOU**

To be successful in this exciting new role, you will be strong communicator, who is agile, data focused, logical and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will also demonstrate:

- Underwriting or Broking Experience with a previous focus on Commercial Underwriting is highly preferred.
- Have up to date knowledge of the insurance industry and products.
- Have a strong understanding of Risk Management principles and be able to translate this to Risk Analysis and Selection.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to develop successful working relationships with stakeholders and other team members.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
