About this team
Our Global Distribution teams are part of our greater lululemon Supply Chain organization. This team supports lululemon’s overall purpose by ensuring we are fulfilling our products to our guests through various channels including our retail stores and ecommerce. Production control is a fast-paced team in a unique position to support the distribution business at every level of operation. They supply the flow of outbound work to the distribution center and work with the teams on the ground to prioritize and execute that workload. Primary functions include waving, researching, shift planning, and workflow optimization. Production Control is a pivotal partner to DC leadership and has daily influence on every department.
**A day in the life**:
- Direct and oversee the Production Control and Inventory Control departments across the entire DC building or campus.
- Responsible for all aspects of talent management for their salaried and hourly direct reports and their results, including hiring, training, the annual review process, performance management, development and coaching, engagement, off-boarding, and rewards and recognition.
- Support with cyclical people processes including completion of mid-year and year-end performance evaluations.
- Develop and maintain daily operational processes to meet ever-evolving business and operational requirements.
- Execute continuous improvement initiatives based on strategic priorities defined by the General Manager.
- Set departments daily and short-term goals to achieve Distribution Center KPIs
- Provide consultation regarding waving exception requests or intersecting project requirements.
- Drive updates to production and inventory control reports as operational needs and processes change
- Manage adherence to procedures & protocols that reduce risk to operations (i.e. process controls, people coverage, report-monitoring).
- Oversee daily wave scheduling and identify opportunities to standardize or improve processes.
- Attend start-up meetings, leadership team meetings/business report outs, and cascade relevant information to the PC & IC teams.
- Engage with engineering & IT partners to drive local enhancements to configuration, reporting, and waving.
- Assist in supporting overall people goals, including leading and participating in team trainings, team builders, and team recognition and engagement.
- Assess individual and team training needs and complete development plans for team members.
- Manage shift scheduling and maintain primary and secondary coverage protocols.
**Qualifications**:
- 5+ years of safety leadership experience in a Distribution Center or similar environment-preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- 3-5 years planning, production and/or quality experience, with specific knowledge of program management and production control systems
- 3 years of direct people management experience with salary and hourly employees
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, production planning or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree in engineering, production planning or related field a plus.
- Possess strong collaboration skills and approach problems with a solution mindset.
- Ability to effectively communicate with the team and business partners, both written and verbally.
- Proven experience leading and implementing process improvements.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks.
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
- SQL language proficiency a plus
- Experience with Power BI a plus.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
- Flexible and adaptable with schedule which could include nights, working required holidays, some weekends with occasional after-hours requirements and overtime.
