**The Opportunity**
The Technical Specialist - Contaminated Sites will be responsible for providing advice and support to the business for contaminated sites and the minimisation of risks and impacts on the physical environment.
This role is a great opportunity for a highly collaborative and motivated individual to manage large-scale contaminated site investigations, including engaging consultants, managing site works, conducting technical reviews of outputs, and ensuring compliance reporting. You will have the ability to provide technical support for our strategic planning for closure studies as the business requires.
In this position, you will report directly to the Principal of Closure and Rehabilitation Studies and be part of broader technical team. You will be based at our HQ office in Osborne Park, and on occasions, oversee projects onsite.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the successful implementation of contaminated site studies across operational and legacy sites.
- Provide advice to internal stakeholders on the effective management of contaminated sites
- Convey scientific and technical information to internal and external stakeholders
- Estimate, scope, and contribute to cost modelling of required remediation and closure work including driving decision evaluation and identification of best execution pathway to achieve optimum environmental and economic outcomes
**What is required**
- Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to contaminated sites
- Background in Mining operations
- contaminated sites is desirable.
- Extensive experience in contaminated sites.
- Experienced with ArcGIS software is essential
- A strong commitment towards leading a safe work culture.
- Demonstrated ability to work within large multi-disciplinary teams and strong stakeholder engagement ability.
- Ability to communicate effectively and constructively with senior business leaders and other technical stakeholders.
- Strong oral and written communication.
