We're seeking a talented Communications Specialist for a 6-month part-time position working 2 days as week. The purpose of this role is to strategically develop and implement communication initiatives that foster engagement, alignment, and transparency among employees, residents, and prospective residents, supporting the achievement of Work Health & Safety (WHS).
Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute expertise to leadership groups, including the WHS team.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for self and colleagues.- Collaborate and share learning with the Business Unit Marketing team, Creative Services, and Marketing teams from other Business Units.- Create and execute a comprehensive internal communications plan aligned with Project Protect objectives. This includes identifying communication goals, target audiences, key messages, and appropriate channels to effectively reach employees and others in the workplace.- Produce compelling written and visual content for various communication channels, ensuring that the content is informative, relevant, and engaging to maintain interest and drive key messages.- Proactively seek and gather compelling narratives from employees and others, ensuring a diverse range of stories that resonate with target audiences and support organisational objectives.- Oversee and maintain internal communication platforms such as the intranet site and WHS newsletters. Monitor channel effectiveness and proactively seek opportunities for improvement.- Provide support for change management initiatives by developing communication plans and materials to facilitate organisational transitions and ensure employee, resident, and prospective resident understanding and buy-in.- Act as a liaison between senior leadership and employees, effectively conveying important announcements, updates, and initiatives to foster transparency and alignment throughout the organisation. Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (desirable).- Proven experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related roles.- Experience in change management communications.- Excellent copywriting and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with communication tools and platforms.- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.- Knowledge of internal communication measurement techniques and tools preferred.
