**About the Role**
The person in this role will lead and manage the Tattarang Group’s approach to First Nations Cultural Heritage with respect and empathy.
Whilst legislative compliance is required, this person will want to change the game on how cultural heritage management is approached and delivered, underpinned by our values.
This includes the development and implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and systems to enable a consistent, effective and proactive management of cultural heritage.
**What you will do**
- Develop policies and procedures that will deliver leading practice approaches, whilst maintaining legislative compliance.
- Develop supporting guidelines, documents, and templates for use across the portfolio companies.
- Identify the Group’s current and future relations with First Nations Peoples across Australia.
- Identify, document and understand the Native Title Determinations across land areas relevant to the Tattarang Group.
- Manage the Group’s stakeholder relationship management system and ensure it is kept up to date with all interactions with First Nations stakeholders
- Disseminate legislative updates and best practice information to businesses
- Provide advice to operating businesses on approach to cultural heritage management and First Nations engagement.
- Engage with Traditional Custodians to co-develop cultural heritage management plans under the relevant legislation.
- Assist in engaging with Traditional Custodians and co-developing Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs)
- Act as main conduit across Tattarang for incoming requests/queries across all government departments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders and government stakeholders and agencies.
**Qualifications**:
**About you**
- Tertiary qualification in Anthropology, Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, Indigenous Studies, or similar/equivalent experience.
- Experience with agreement making
- Understanding of State and Federal First Nations cultural heritage legislation requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
- Proven experience working positively with Aboriginal people and communities.
- Working knowledge of cultural heritage survey processes, site recording methodologies, and Western Australia heritage legislation.
- Ability to quickly get up to speeds on the Indigenous Land Use Agreements, Native Title Agreements, and/or Heritage Agreements across the businesses.
- Prior cultural heritage management experience within Western Australia will be considered beneficial.
