About the role
The Group Manager - Data and Analytics, encompasses three primary responsibilities centered on enhancing the organization's Data & Analytics capabilities. First, it involves providing operational support for the Data & Analytics Platform, ensuring its smooth functioning and continual improvement. Second, the individual will be tasked with delivering the Data & Analytics roadmap, which includes implementing strategic initiatives that align with the organization’s goals. Finally, this role requires acting as a champion for Data & Analytics across the organization, promoting a culture that values data-driven decision-making.
The main focus will be on building out the data platform specifically for reporting purposes. Following this development, the role will adopt a pragmatic approach to establish a robust analytics capability that effectively serves the business's needs.
Reporting directly to the General Manager Information Technology, you will be accountable for the following:
Collaborate with stakeholders at group and site levels to analyze information and develop medium-term plans (1 to 3 years) aligned with the IT strategic plan and business goals, focusing on improved operational outcomes.
Develop the annual department budget and set key performance indicators (KPIs) while clarifying internal customer support needs
Identify and implement IT-related risk mitigation strategies
Gather and analyze data for business cases and projects, staying informed about emerging technology trends in IT and mining relevant to Evolution Mining
Deliver the Data & Analytics roadmap and develop supporting business cases
Oversee vendors and partners to ensure timely, on-budget project completion with high-quality standards
Establish project governance through Steering Committees and Working Groups
Engage key stakeholders throughout the delivery of Data & Analytics projects
Oversee operational management of data platforms to meet service level agreements (SLAs)
Coach team members and provide technical guidance to enhance processes and systems
Manage a pipeline of platform enhancements and monitor project, team, and budget performance against objectives
Emphasize alignment with ITIL best practices, particularly in IT incident, request, and change management processes.
About you
To be successful in this role you are an analytical and communicative leader with an appropriate balance of business and technical acumen. Furthermore, you will have the following qualifications competencies and experience:
Demonstrated experience leading a team.
10-15 years relevant technical and business experience in mid to large sized organisations with 5-10 years in a Leadership role.
Mining or resource industry experience in Data & Analytics preferred.
Proven experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of a Data & reporting platform, preferable in a mature / best practise environment
Proven experience in enabling an Analytics capability across a business
Strong vendor management, including onshore / offshore experience.
Strong experience in enabling a data, reporting, and analytics capability within a low maturity environment.
Experiencing in finding the balance of uplifting capability, whilst delivering in parallel.
Experience in the delivery of organisation-wide technology projects, particularly in the realm of data and analytics, in
