Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed Christian professionals for the position of Secondary Education Support Teacher at our School in 2025 (0.8 - 1.0 FTE).

Working within a team of dedicated Secondary School teachers, the successful applicant will have a passion for inspiring, guiding and supporting young children in realising their potential.

Position Summary

Bringing a Christian perspective to bear in all aspects of work, the role of an Education Support Teacher is to plan, develop, deliver and implement programs for students with special education needs or disabilities, with a focus on literacy, numeracy and social skills. Education Support Teachers also collaborate and consult with class teachers to ensure that a meaningful and dignified curriculum is delivered to all students, with a focus on students who require differentiation. An Education Support Teacher will have roles in both the Life Skills program and supporting students in timetabled classes.

This role requires the Education Support Teacher to support the development of the whole child by:

- Assessing the students’ abilities
- Identifying student strengths and weaknesses
- Providing support to develop academically, socially, spiritually, emotionally and physically, in collaboration with in-school services and external providers
- Fostering independence and life skills

Applicants will need to be:

- Practicing Christians, actively involved in their local church and able to subscribe to the School’s Mission Statement and Educational Creed
- Registered with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board
- Registered with a current Working With Vulnerable People (Employment) Card
