Ruah Community Services has been supporting and empowering vulnerable and disadvantaged people to create positive change in their lives for more than 60 years - leading innovation and delivering tailored, wrap-around support for people experiencing homelessness, family and domestic violence, mental health challenges and, as a result, needing legal advice and support.

You're in the right place. If you're looking to make change in the lives of others in a meaningful way. We are recruiting a casual Support Worker to work in our Women's Refuge which operates on a 24/7 basis which requires availability for both days & night shifts which include weekends.

As well as the above experience, we will be looking for:

- An individual of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
- Completion of a relevant qualification in Mental Health or Community Services (Certificate III or IV), and relevant work experience.
- Ability to engage with individuals within different levels of needs and build and maintain a professional relationship.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to the functioning of the team.
- Ability to model positive behaviors, emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
- Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Understanding of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and client reporting system.
- Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
