**What You Will Be Doing**
The Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) at The Mornington Centre is an essential and valued part of our occupational therapy team, providing clinical support across our 3 GEM wards via individual and group-based programs.
The role provides supervision and mentoring to Grade 2 AHA staff and assumes primary responsibility for AHA student placements as required. The Grade 3 AHA provides excellent leadership within the small AHA team and liaises with external stakeholders and staff at other sites as required.
**What You Need**
We anticipate you will have:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance.
- Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Experience working as an AHA in acute and/or sub-acute inpatient setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of the goals and priorities of occupational therapy within a hospital setting.
- A sound understanding of scope of practice in an inpatient setting.
- Ability to provide individual and group therapy and education programs under the direction of the occupational therapist, including documentation and provision of feedback
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated problem solving and organisational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritise clinical and administrative caseloads.
- Demonstrated leadership skills as relevant to Grade 3 role.
