Ventia’s Transport business currently operates several long-term road maintenance and minor capital work contracts across Australia.

Venture Smart is our latest 50/50 joint venture between Ventia and Johnson Controls (JCI) to providing ongoing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) maintenance services & electrical capital works state wide for Main Roads WA.

**The Role**: We are seeking experienced Civil Construction Operators to deliver results to our client Main Roads Western Australia. This includes operating on assets across the Western Australia metropolitan and regional areas.
Such Assets include:

- Traffic control signals
- Roadway Lighting - Light Poles on freeways and main
- Electronic Speed Limit Signs for 40km/h School Zones
- Emergency roadside help telephones
- Closed Circuit Television cameras
- Variable message signs
- Vehicle detection systems
- An optical fibre-based communications network
- Bluetooth travel time units.

**Key Duties**:

- Operate excavators up to 7 tonne to complete detailed excavation works in and around live public utilities
- Experience working on functioning electrical assets (brown fields).
- Ability to read DBYD drawings
- Experience with civil electrical installations (pit & pipe).
- Assisting Traffic System Technicians and Traffic Signal Technicians, Electricians as required

**About you**:

- You hold an Excavator Operation ticket.
- You have a valid MR licence or Higher.
- You have experience in operating mini excavators on brown fields construction sites.
- You have the ability to read DBYD drawings.
- You are happy to work both in and out of the machine.
- You have the ability to self-start and work as part of a team.

**Skills / licenses that are highly desirable but not mandatory.**
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management tickets
- History working on Main Roads electrical and communications assets
- Basic Rigging including Work at heights
- Vehicle Mounted Crane (VMC) ticket
- Forklift ticket
- EWP
