The role of the Mail Processing Coordinator is to coach, coordinate and facilitate an allocated team or staff working on an allocated workstation or process, toward the achievement of team goals, productivity targets, and service performance standards and to develop the skills and capabilities of teams and team members.
Based in Redbank Plains at the Brisbane Parcel Facility, this job requires availability for the hours as below:
**Working hours are **11.45am - 7.51pm Sunday to Friday**. **This is a one in every two Sunday rotation**
**(RDO on a weekday during that week when a Sunday is worked)**
**Key Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrates ability to lead, coach, facilitate and mentor team members
- Demonstrated ability to participate in and facilitate the introduction of change and innovation
- Must have existing knowledge of processing systems and has working knowledge of the Large Parcel Sorting System (LPSS) or equivalent
**Major Accountabilities**
**Safety**
- Lead, role model and drive Safety Leadership culture in the workplace to increase the ownership of safety by all, an environment where safety discussions are generated at every level and contributing to the achievement of zero incidents.
- Manage and implement best practice workplace safety initiatives, including accident investigation, injury and rehabilitation management.
- Regularly engage teams by listening and acting upon safe or at risk behaviours to reduce exposure
- Enable teams to remove barriers to working safely, and pro-actively promote the ‘permission to pause’ where exposure exists
- Communicate consistently and positively with team to provide certain positive feedback on critical behaviours
- Proactively discuss safety issues with all workers and stakeholders to collaboratively develop solutions and improvements
**Strategy Execution & Customer**
The Strategy Execution & Customer role of Team Leader involves facilitating the implementation of the production plan including planning, managing and monitoring the rate of parcel processing. To successfully perform this role, Team Leaders will need to liaise with the Shift Production Manager and Operations Lead to:
- Use management operating systems and real time information to manage the flow of parcels to be processed
- Use statistical process control measures and process improvement tools to manage processes, measure performance, analyse variance against production plans, and take appropriate corrective action
- Report on machine performance and any major issues that impact facility operations
- Ensure resources are available for the team to meet production processing requirements
- Ensure achievement of facility operational performance targets
- Ensure effective information exchange with relevant stakeholders, including contributing to shift handover discussions
- Conduct supply chain process checks and support the provision of network diagnostics for network handover
- Understand internal operating standards and the end-to-end network processing relationship
- Identify and participate in process improvement activities and challenge existing ways of doing things
- Develop and maintain a best practice, continuous improvement and quality customer service focus
- Build and maintain networks and use feedback from those networks to improve team performance
**Leadership & Organisation**
The Leadership and Organisation role of Team Leader is critical to the development of high performance, team based operations. To successfully perform this role, Team Leaders will need to:
- Promote an employee engagement approach to ensure that employees are committed to their Australia Post’s organisation’s goals and values and are motivated to contribute to organisational success
