The Student Services and Administration portfolio has responsibility for domestic and international students, studying vocational or higher education at VU. It supports end-to-end student lifecycle operations and student business system configuration and oversight across VU. This collaborative and integrated service works together with the University's Colleges and other stakeholders to support students across the student life cycle. The portfolio includes:
**About the Role**:
The overall purpose of the Student Communications Officer is to create, design and implement multi-channel communications campaigns for current students on behalf of a range of VU service providers. You will utilise your highly-developed written and verbal communication skills to craft compelling and engaging communications to ensure VU’s students are well informed and engaged with everything that is happening on (and off) campus.

**This is a full time position at a HEP 5 $75,329 - $86,527 classification working 36.75 hours per week over a continuing contract period.**

An example of your responsibilities or duties you may perform will include:

- Drafting and creating effective, professional, and engaging communications
- Respond to briefs from VU-wide stakeholders to produce engaging communications across all channels aligned to the communications schedule, under the direction of the Coordinator, Student Communications;
- Ensure relevant channels (e.g. eDM, MYVU Portal, web, knowledge bases, web, social media, digiscreens etc.) are updated to be consistent with brand guidelines.
- Ensure content is aligned with university writing style guide and accessibility standards;
Monitoring and reviewing social media to ensure queries or comments are managed effectively

**About You**:

- A background in Communications, Marketing, Content creation, or Media and Communications would be ideal.
- The successful applicant will be inquisitive, adaptable, cooperative, proactive, and resourceful (a can-do attitude), with the ability to work autonomously and as part of team under the direction of the Coordinator - Student Communications campaigns.This will be a role with a lot of variety and exciting challenges.
