**The role**:
The Maintenance Planning Lead is responsible for leading a team of high-performing Maintenance Schedulers and Resources Estimators (who are specialists in mechanical, electrical and instrumentation) and for planning and scheduling $25M worth of maintenance activities.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that asset management activities are completed on time and that process safety plans are optimised through detailed and systemic planning. You will also responsible for implementing best practice maintenance strategies.

**Duties will include**:

- Participating as a member of the Maintenance Leadership team, influencing a positive culture and co-operation between departments;
- Actively managing stakeholders within the Management, Maintenance Execution and Operations teams to ensure all parties are well informed and any issues or conflicts are resolved rapidly;
- Ensuring that planning activities are delivered through detailed and systemic planning.
- Championing a culture where process safety and personal safety is prioritised in all activities;
- Directly supervising the scoping of multi-discipline work packs for execution by skilled Maintenance Technicians;
- Directly supervising the development and quality of detailed Maintenance Schedules for maintenance activities;
- Coaching and developing staff, managing performance issues and sustaining high performance;
- Monitoring and optimising safety critical maintenance compliance and plant reliability by implementing best practice;
- Monitoring and reporting on the Maintenance Team performance, including the planning, execution and operations interfaces for routine and turnaround maintenance;
- Leading continuous improvement projects in the planning and execution of maintenance activities within the existing framework for continuous improvement.

**Selection Criteria**:
To ensure success you will need to be a qualified engineer or tradesperson with a background in either chemical, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation engineering or trade and have a formal qualification in maintenance planning. Extensive experience in maintenance planning will also be high regarded. You will also need to demonstrate a successful track record in leading teams and be experienced in developing and implementing maintenance strategies within a plant environment. Your high-level interpersonal, negotiation and leadership sills together with your knowledge of planning/scheduling systems will see you thrive in this rewarding role.
