**About the role**:
The Critical Technologies Team drives the creation of policies, programs, and initiatives aimed at strengthening the State’s research and development capabilities in critical technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, photonics, and quantum technologies. The team fosters industry awareness and adoption of these advancements and leads the development and implementation of the Cyber Security industry development workplan.

As the Principal, Cyber Security Industry Development, you will develop and coordinate programs, projects and services which facilitate growth of the cyber security industry in South Australia and foster collaboration between Government, industry and academia.

You will also:

- Lead the implementation and evaluation of the Cyber Security industry development workplan
- Lead stakeholder engagement and management plans to connect key South Australian and Australian cyber security stakeholders across the private, public and academic sectors.
- Administer and guide the development of cyber security commercialisation, policy development and research and development opportunities for the cyber security sector in South Australia.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders including software, infrastructure and cyber security businesses, vendors, contractors and suppliers and ensure high quality products, processes and services are delivered and managed in accordance with agreed service levels and standards.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships, networks and partnerships with key stakeholders and represent the Department of State Development and the South Australian Government at cyber security conferences, events, forums and in meetings

**Key Competencies**:

- Cyber security concepts, threats and vulnerabilities and economic growth opportunities for South Australia’s cyber security industry.
- Government policy development, governance, decision-making, management and accountability systems and processes.
- Leading and managing the development, delivery and evaluation of programs, projects and services which engage and promote innovation and growth within the cyber security industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of high-quality industry engagement and business development initiatives and in the provision of a responsive, client-centred approach to the resolution of issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Extensive vendor and stakeholder engagement experience including managing suppliers of third-party software and hardware services and negotiating and managing contracts and service level agreements.
- Experience in shaping strategic thinking and providing strategic advice, including through the demonstrated use of high-level analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will also have:

- High-level interpersonal and communication skills with a significant capacity to tailor insights to a diverse range of stakeholders
- Experience in developing and maintaining effective networks, alliances and operational relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders to handle complex and sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy and manage commercially and politically sensitive matters discretely
- A high degree of attention detail, creativity and original thinking to identify and analyse complex problems, formulate and implement innovative solutions
- The ability to exercise significant levels of independent judgement to determine goals and priorities within the framework of the corporate objectives of the agency.

**Remuneration**:
Salary will be offered as ASO7: $108, 109 - $116,864 pa plus superannuation
