Then the Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) Ranger rehabilitation project is what you’re looking for

After more than 35 years operating as a successful uranium mine, the Ranger Project is entering its rehabilitation stage and offers an exciting opportunity for you to make a positive impact on the environment.

ERA has engaged the global engineering firm, Bechtel, to support ERA as Delivery Partner for ongoing study work.

Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.

Located 8 km east of Jabiru and 260 km south-east of Darwin, the Ranger Project will lead the way in the fast-growing area of mining closures.

**About the Role**

As our **Technical Writer**, and based working out of our **Brisbane office**, you will be responsible to work through the development of technical documentation for the ERA Project and required to work independently with periodic supervision and support provided by the Senior Project Engineer.

Your role will involve planning, writing, editing, proofreading, and coordinating the production of simple to highly complex documents and presentations for accuracy, consistency, professional quality, and conformance to an appropriate style guide. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with existing mine site team Subject Matter Experts and specialist 3rd party engineers and project functional leads.

As required, you will also provide operational direction to technical editing staff.

**Key responsibilities may include (but not be limited to)**:

- Manages and develops technical reports to support the overall feasibility study.
- Manages and develops Study Reports and Scope of Works / Specifications with input from discipline engineers.
- Edits and/or rewrites draft documents.
- Monitors progress of document preparation and alerts responsible supervisor to assist maintaining the schedule/ project deadlines.
- Maintains document and resource files (photo/slide/viewgraph) including Office Style Guide.
- Prepares presentations.
- On-line editing and desktop publishing.

**About You**:

- Technical report writing experience.
- Knowledge of engineering studies and the work processes required.
- Knowledge of technical report, study report and scope development.
- Thorough knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, composition, and style.
- Ability to perform substantive edits and write original text.
- High level vocabulary related to the technical disciplines.
- On-line editing, and ideally desktop publishing capability.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current production methods and techniques, including graphics, word processing, and photographic processes.
- Effective leadership and coordination skills.
- Experience in preparing presentations.
- Persuasive written and oral communication, including conceptualizing effective graphics to present complex technical, organizational, or procedural material.
- Knowledge and familiarity of industry and regulatory codes and standards and design criteria.
- Ideally possesses knowledge of rehabilitating facilities and familiarity of bulk material earthwork and water management processes.
