**The role**
The Group HSE & Compliance Manager contributes to the success of the business by leading and effectively managing all health, safety, environment, and compliance activities. You will have exceptional attention to detail along with strong knowledge in transport safety.
Your responsibilities will ensure compliance with occupational health and safety, environment and heavy vehicle legislation in all jurisdictions including but not limited to.
- National and state based WHS laws and regulations.
- Workers’ compensation
- Chain of responsibility (CoR)
- Fatigue management (BFM accreditation)
- Speed management
- The national Heavy vehicle accreditation scheme (NHVAS)
- Identify, address, and manage gaps in current HSE practices.
- Drive the required changes to achieve a high-performance compliance and safety culture.
- Develop and execute HSE plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a strong health and safety culture.
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
- Develop training programs and presentations for HSE matters and accident prevention.
- Ensure sound process in place and all staff and contractors are aware of their responsibilities.
- Manage major accidents and incidents by overseeing investigations and taking corrective action.
- Oversee safety meetings to ensure compliance and adequate representation in each state.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
**Success Looks Like This**
- Solid experience in HSE and compliance
- Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment and leading outcomes is your thing
- Proven experience in Transport and Logistics industry
- Thorough understanding of HSE and heavy vehicle laws and regulations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- You are compliant by nature and can demonstrate quality management processes.
