**About the Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the **Renal Unit** team as a** Technical Officer**where you will be responsible for:
TGO1
- Prioritise and organise bookings.
- Perform and report on urine spun microscopy as appropriate
- Performing blood pressure tests associated with the Renal Laboratory including 24hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Service, 30min blood pressure studies and 7-day home blood pressure monitoring.
- Preparing equipment and providing education to patients/family for 24hr urine collections and urine dipstick.
- Maintenance of the Renal Laboratory’s quality assurance programs as well as the immediate and reliable communication of routine diagnostic results to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Contribute to the team atmosphere where communication, initiative and pro-active qualities are essential.

TGO2
- Prioritising and organising bookings.

- Performing and reporting on all blood pressure tests associated with the Renal Laboratory including 24hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Service, 30min blood pressure studies and 7-day home blood pressure monitoring.
- Preparing equipment and providing education to patients/family for 24hr urine collections and urine dipstick.
- Participating in the Renal Laboratory’s quality assurance programs as well as the immediate and reliable communication of routine diagnostic results to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Performing bench assays and preparation of samples for tests including plasma oxalate and white cell cystine.
- Contributes to the team atmosphere where communication, initiative and pro-active qualities are essential.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
- Ability to perform phase contrast light microscopy.
- Ability to interact with patients and their families (for parts of the role).
- Skills in problem solving and decision making, including task prioritisation.
- Knowledge of laboratory methods and practice.
