If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented Youth Support Practitioner to join our team at Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) to implement our youth engagement programs within the ACT.
About the role
This position is part of the Youth Engagement Team responsible for the coordination, planning and facilitation of youth engagement activities under the direction of the Program Manager - Youth Services. The incumbent will provide support to vulnerable young people aged 10-25 years through the provision of assertive outreach, structured open access activities and short-term casework in the Capital Region. Support for young people and services will be supported and guided by CRCS Practice Framework.
**Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following**:
- Delivers programs in accordance with contractual and KPI requirements and in alignment with program manuals
- Creates new programs where required and identifies program modifications and improvements.
- Maintains engagement and interest of participants and encourages re-attendance by providing high quality customer service and creative activities.
- Respectfully and safely encourages participants to try new activities and offers support to engage where required.
- Create new opportunities for young people to participate in
- Monitors equipment and resource quality, set-up, use of equipment and resources and the storage of equipment and resources to ensure safety at all times.
- Develops, monitors and updates program risk assessments independently and in partnership with the team.
**Essential requirements for the role**:
- Minimum of Diploma level qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Education or related field.
- First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement.
- Capability and willingness to continue learning and development.
**Additional requirements for the role**:
Required to work routinely outside normal business hours.
A valid driver's license and access to a roadworthy, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle are essential for this role to fulfill work-related requirements.
CRCS employees must hold a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration and have this with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
CRCS employees are required to undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may affect their eligibility to work or performing the inherent requirements of their position.
