Lead Project Finance Specialist

**The Opportunity**:
We are excited to offer a role for a Senior Project Finance Administrator (PFA) at WSP.

This role is responsible for supporting Project Teams (Project Managers/Directors, Commercial and other stakeholders) to deliver financially successful projects. The Senior PFA will provide financial and operational support for a Project Portfolio, driving project financial performance and ensuring that project financial compliance is met whilst also supporting the Project Finance Team Manager in team leadership.

**Main Activities and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)**

The main themes of the role can be grouped as follows:
Project Finance
- Providing efficient and comprehensive Project Finance Administration services on a day-to-day basis; working on a portfolio of projects (varying in number, complexity and dollar value).

Reporting and Analysis
- Utilising systems and tools as required to generate (internal and/or external) reports on a regular basis, analyse reports (cost trackers and other project-specific reports) to monitor actual expenditure vs. approved budgets; highlight any variances/issues to Project Managers and Commercial teams to assist in minimising financial risk to the business.

Compliance and Control
- Ensure the project accounting and administrative setup is in accordance with revenue recognition policy, Delegation of Authority and compliant with SOX 52-109.
- Ensure Project data is accurate, including budgets, project credentials and WBS structure.
- Ensure checks are in place for data integrity.
- Assist with internal and external audits.

Training and Development
- Complete relevant and mandatory training and contribute to the Project Finance Administration Team through actively sharing knowledge.

Leadership
- Mentor and/or train other project finance administrators as needed, including reviewing billing and project budgets to perform QA/QC.
- Chair (rotational) Project Finance Team Meetings within the Regional Team Capacity, including preparing the agenda and inviting any special guests

**Experience, skills and organisational knowledge**
- At least 7+ years of experience in Project Finance, including maintaining financial data in an ERP
- Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation and accounting software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets.
- Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound independent judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions with financial implications to the company.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a financial and non-financial audience.
- Demonstrated high-level self-leadership with attention to detail, result orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to productively work with remote teams and build strong relationships with line managers, PFA’s, and Project Managers.
- Experience preferred with effective people leadership skills, management, and providing guidance and direction to others.
