**About the Opportunity**

With the expected population growth over the next 20-years, now is an exciting time to be involved in the planning of Moreton Bay Region’s transition to a future city. As our Principal Transport Planner, you will be central to that transition, and by working within the Integrated Transport Planning and Design department, you will be directly involved in the planning, managing and design of the transport network.

This will include needs assessment and options analysis to inform concept design and project justification for a wide range of activities, including corridor planning, road link and intersection upgrades, and input on active transport and public transport matters.

This will require you to have proven experience in (and provide expert advice on) transport planning and leadership for the development of existing and future integrated transport planning projects to meet the needs of the forecasted growth of the Moreton Bay Region. You’ll also:

- Work within the team to review network opportunities and challenges, and author comprehensive and qualified transport planning reports
- Develop transport planning consultancy briefs, project manage and coordinate progress of projects through the development, procurement, reporting, and finalisation stages.
- Employ a range of verbal, visual and written communication techniques to demonstrate the contents, recommendations, and benefits of transport planning studies

**About you**

You will have proven industry experience and knowledge in developing, authoring and project managing integrated multi-modal transport planning projects, and hold a degree in urban and regional planning, transport planning or equivalent.

You are a strategic thinker who can effectively problem-solve, show initiative, and demonstrate strong communication and consultation skills to represent Council’s interests. You will be confident to liaise and build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will also have
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with and interpreting transport modelling, project assurance guidelines, cost estimates, and civil design drawings.
- Experience in preparing and presenting complex, qualified, and referenced technical reports and proposals
- Excellent time management skills, effectiveness in managing projects, and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary best practice, integrated transport planning and design principles, standards, and legislation
