Amber is a new way to buy power, designed for a world powered by renewable energy. We give customers direct access to the real-time wholesale electricity price as it varies every 30 mins and the technology to shift more of their energy usage to the times when cheaper renewables are available in the grid. It’s a cheaper way to buy power and the fastest way for Australia to reach 100% renewable energy.
We are growing rapidly and have thousands of customers who love what we are doing and a great product that will play a significant role in driving Australia towards a renewable future. We are backed by Australia’s leading VCs including Square Peg Capital, Giant Leap (Impact Investment Group) and Black Sheep Capital. We’re now at a critical moment in taking the business to real scale as we disrupt a huge market for the better.
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and a great culture of people who love coming to work to build a better world. You’d be a part of a rapidly growing team of 50+ with expertise across energy, technology, marketing, and operations.
About the Role
No one likes the energy category. Consumers are also widely apathetic about it. In fact, Aussie’s spend an average of 7 minutes a year thinking about their electricity. We want to change that. We’re on a mission to build a brand that cuts through the industry greenwashing and helps consumers understand how shifting their energy use can accelerate Australia's transition to 100% renewable energy.
Amber’s model is highly differentiated and very unique, and that makes it sometimes hard to explain. This means that video is a key format for us to communicate some often complex concepts in a fun and engaging way.
We are looking for a triple threat who can produce, shoot and edit videos for Amber’s website and social platforms. Opportunity to shape the role and the output you think is best suited for Amber.
Key Responsibilities
Concept, produce and shoot high quality video content that represents Amber’s unique aesthetic and tone of voice
Edit video content to ensure it is fit-for-purpose across Amber’s multi-channel ecosystem
Flex between scrappy iPhone video production to high tech larger campaign assets
Conceptualise a wide range of ideas & creatively execute the brief at hand
Provide support to cross-functional teams, with customer explainer videos, energy education videos and videos for internal use
About You
You know how to produce exceptional video output that engages, excites, educates, and ultimately, drives action.
You’re a natural storyteller with the ability to explain complex messages in simple, human ways and inject personality wherever you go
You have a great awareness of the latest filmic and editing trends
You’re self driven in your technical learning and have sound knowledge of Premiere, C1 Pro, and Bridge
You’re as comfortable shooting with an iPhone as you are with high tech
You’re able to confidently shoot and direct as a one person team for our small shoots.
You understand our brand guidelines, voice and personality, and can see how you can bring it to life in video format
You have a growth mindset and are open to feedback. You get excited by the idea of testing and learning to see the impact your content is having and how it can be improved
You’re interested in spending time getting to know the energy industry, what makes our customers tick and the intricacies of our model
You are interested in Amber and our mission to shift Australia to 100% renewable energy. It’s a big mission, and we need a super passionate team to make it happen
Minimum 3 years experience in the video production space. Start up experience viewed favourably.
**Benefits**:
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and a great culture of people who love coming to work to build a better world. You’d be a part of a rapidly growing team of over 50 with expertise across energy, technology, marketing, and operations.
Be part of a growing technology startup that will shape the future of renewable energy in AU
