AV is seeking an experienced OHS Specialist to join the Health & Safety department of our People & Culture Division.
This full time, permanent position is based at AV Headquarters in Doncaster.
About the role
Reporting to the Director Health & Safety, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Manage and maintain Ambulance Victoria's Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
- Provide authoritative and strategic advice to key stakeholders on various Health & Safety services, initiatives and complex OHS matters.
- Lead the delivery of Health & Safety projects as defined in annual work plans.
- Influence and drive organisational change in line Ambulance Victoria's Health & Safety Strategy.
- Reporting on specific Health & Safety performance measures, including analysing data, identifying trends, escalating risks and making recommendations.
- Foster constructive and effective working relationships with the health and safety department across the organisation.

About you
- A postgraduate degree or relevant industry certification (or progress toward) with high level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience.
- Internal/Lead Auditor ISO45001 (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated experience, ability, and skills to manage OHS risks in a complex and highly regulated organisation.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing OHS management systems (e.g. ISO45001)
- Experience in the design, implementation, and management of projects.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence and the willingness to travel as required.

Successful applicants need to provide evidence of having received the mandated COVID-19 vaccinations and be willing to complete pre-employment screening including a Police Check.
This position is graded an AV5 under the Ambulance Victoria (Management and Administrative Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2021.
