Head of Technology for Data Delivery

Influence the maturity of our Data Enabled capability to meet our strategic target of being a data-driven organisation
- Lead a dedicated team of IT professionals who develop and manage the technologies that operate our data collection, data warehousing and reporting functions that are hosted on cloud and internally.
- Work with some of our partner agencies/government departments with whom we share some of our protected data
- Work with leading edge technologies and be a part of our digital transformation where we are shifting our core workloads to the cloud

**The Role**

Leading a large team of IT professionals, you will be working closely with our Data Analytics teams to deliver technology solutions to allow efficient collection, storage, analysis and publication of data that will be consumed by regulated financial institutions and partner government agencies. Your expertise with data technology will assist our aspiration to become a data enabled organisation. The role also requires a strong level of collaboration with other parts of the technology team and the broader APRA business.

**What your typical day will look like**

Working closely with your business partners, you will manage an evolving prioritisation backlog, as well as capacity and availability of your people. You will also engage with vendor suppliers and third parties to provide managed services with your primary liaison being the Senior leadership team within the Technology and Data division.

Your proactiveness will enable you to identify efficiencies and maintain an ongoing roadmap of work that provides clarity to your team members and enables optimisation of work. You will also participate in Senior Leadership meetings and workshops.

**About you**
- Extensive experience within a Data Domain - leading a Data Management Systems practice with demonstrated knowledge of data collection, data hosting, data curation and reporting/BI
- Applications Delivery background, having lead teams using Agile Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD principles and practices
- Passionate about working in an organisation that contributes to the stability of our financial services industry
- Strong desire to shape and influence the evolution of APRA’s data infrastructure and strategic goal of being a more data enabled organisation
- Demonstrated experience in innovative and collaborative technology teams
- Significant experience leading data transformation initiatives using internal and contract delivery teams
- Solid understanding of industry best practices in relation to the technologies (and processes) available and employed in the collection, storage and dissemination of data
- Ability to develop strong partnerships with business teams to deliver technology solutions
- Confident challenging the status quo and articulating more efficient and effective ways of getting to a successful outcome
- Ability to effectively liaise with and influence senior stakeholders
- A strong leader with a track record of bringing people along the journey of change.
- An advocate for win-win outcomes and collaborating with peers and customers to that end.
