About the Role
As a Manager, Climate Scenario Analysis in the Risk Metrics and Measurement team, you will lead climate risk analytics and scenario analysis (including stress testing), providing stakeholders with clear insights into potential climate-related risks and opportunities across the bank’s portfolios. Your role is pivotal in supporting informed decision-making and developing sustainable portfolio strategies that align with ANZ’s commitment to a resilient and sustainable future.
You will need to create innovative approaches to integrate climate risk into Stress Testing and Credit Risk modelling processes. The objective is to build a scalable and sustainable climate stress testing capability that can evolve as new data, tools and regulations emerge.
This is a newly created position where you will set a benchmark for excellence, contributing significantly to the global effort to navigate the challenges posed by climate change.

What will your day look like?
**As a Manager, Climate Scenario Analysis, you will**:
Analyse and identify factors contributing to climate-related risks across business portfolios and collaborate with data engineers to source and establish climate risk datasets.
Ensure seamless delivery of Climate related regulatory disclosures for various geographies that ANZ operates in.
Deliver on Climate Risk analytics and work with Stress Testing and Modelling teams to design and deliver on Climate disclosures and models.
Work with relevant stakeholders to design and create adaptable stress testing models specifically tailored for climate-related risks and estimate the impact of these risks from the perspectives of credit risk weighted assets (RWA) and provisions.
Ensure the climate-related risk models adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards
Prepare and deliver presentations to the senior leadership team, communicating findings to inform strategic decision-making
Foster relationships with teams both within and outside the risk domain, locally and globally, to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Proven experience within Banking. Experience in Credit Risk Modelling, Climate Risk Modelling or Climate Risk Regulatory disclosures, Stress Testing, Forecasting is preferred.
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Tertiary qualification in an analytics-based degree (statistics, economics, actuarial science, mathematics, quantitative finance, engineering)
Proficient in SAS, SQL, and/or R and Python for data manipulation, analysis.
Understanding of macroeconomic variables and analysis.
Effective communication skills to convey complex modelling concepts to non-technical stakeholders and experience in preparing clear presentations and reports for senior management
Previous experience in developing and implementing stress testing / ECL models would be beneficial.
