Public Sector People are working with a local council to recruit a Drainage and Inspection Officer for a temporary contract assignment.

**Responsibilities**:
Our client is seeking a dynamic Drainage & Inspection Officer to join their team on a 2-month contract. You will be responsible for:

- Undertaking inspections, drainages, routine maintained inspections, proactive inspections, and issuing vehicle crossing & road opening permits, managing works as directed.
- Preparing reports, correspondence, and investigating any arising issues.
- Engaging, supervising, and auditing contractors undertaking works on behalf of the council.
- Authorizing and issuing road opening and vehicle crossing permits in line with Council policies and guidelines.
- Conducting pre & post-work service authorities inspections and, when damage occurs, assessing the extent and arranging repairs.
- Attending to routine customer requests and inquiries, providing timely and accurate information in line with Council policy.
- Interpreting, applying, and enforcing road opening and vehicle crossing policies.
- Assisting with the development and monitoring of performance measures for the work unit, contractors, and service authorities.
- Liaising with service authorities to ensure asset and infrastructure protection adheres to Council policies and procedures.
