**Role Details**
The Manager (MAYFS) is a role within Community and Family Services and is accountable to the General Manager, Aboriginal Practice and Services for:
- Leading the development, design and implementation of high quality, outcome focussed and culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
- Providing strong leadership, support and advocacy across internal and external service providers to strengthen relationships and pathways to maximise outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people.
- Building strategic partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and local communities and other key partners in the metropolitan area, with a focus on local diversionary and support services for Aboriginal children and young people.
- Providing strategic leadership and operational management of all services delivered by MAYFS including the management of financial, physical and human resources.
Key outcomes and accountabilities:
1. Provide operational management and evidence based, high quality programs and services that enhance wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people who are in contact or at rick of contact with the Youth Justice system.
2. Facilitate consultation and communication with Aboriginal communities across the metropolitan area to obtain information regarding the ongoing effectiveness of MAYFS Programs and identify emerging Aboriginal community needs.
3. Undertake change management, evaluate performance, identify crucial success factors and initiate continuous improvement strategies and reform activities to achieve required outcomes and provide timely and effective programs and services to Aboriginal children and young people.
4. Provide strategic leadership on Aboriginal youth justice policy and projects of critical importance to the Department.
5. Lead, mentor, provide direction and oversight to the various service and programs teams within MAYFS and ensure quality assurance processes of services and programs provided to Aboriginal children and young people.
6. Represent MAYFS in relevant consultations, committees, forums and working parties.
7. Model ethical behaviour and practices consistent with SA Government Code of Ethics for Public Sector employees and DHS stated values.
Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department. The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.

Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation is desirable.
**About the Business**
Community and Family Services supports vulnerable people and families to participate in social and economic life and build stronger communities. This division comprises three key areas:
**Safer Family Services (SFS) **provides a wide range of intensive family support services to children, young people and families experiencing a high risk of statutory intervention from the child protection or youth justice systems. Services also include family support, community development and parenting and youth programs.
The **Office for Women **works across government and the community towards achieving gender equity and positive change for women in South Australia by developing policy and advising on issues affecting women to improve their safety, wellbeing and economic security. The office also oversees the Women’s Information Service to support women over the phone, online and in person, as well as regional safety hubs across the state.
**Communities and Justice **works towards building community safety and wellbeing by providing support and services to children, young people and families in the youth justice system, building the capacity of communities through community development projects and working in partnership with the community services sector to respond to people with complex and exceptional needs.
