Mentor / Support Worker

We are seeking an enthusiastic mentor to support a client with Autism, 8 years of age in a long term role. He can be a breeze to work with but at times struggles with emotional responses to situations which in turn requires compassion, understanding and patience from his mentor while he navigates emotions and routines.

**Duties**

Client interests include playing video games and watching movies - which will be enjoyed on the weekends as part of shift duties. On school days tasks will revolve around after-school and pre-bed routines established by the parent. These might include assistance with homework tasks, support throughout home duties/chores and transport to activities. During your shifts you will seek every opportunity to support the client to achieve his established NDIS goals. The ideal applicant uses creativity and resourcefulness to suggest activities that are fun, engaging beneficial. Organisational support and guidance from family is provided and ongoing.

**Shift times**

Regular shifts are Tue, Wed, Thu after school (3-5 hours in length) and alternating Sat/Sun; 9am-1pm. Extended/Additional hours during school holidays.

**Remuneration**
- Weekday $30/h
- Saturday $40.41/h
- Sunday $50.18/h

**Essential Requirements (or willing to obtain)**
- Valid First Aid and CPR
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check OR Police Check
- Current drivers licence
- Roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
