**The Role**

The Families and Young People Services team have an exciting opportunity for a Youth and Family Support Worker to join Mercy Community. This is a Permanent Part-time position offering 30 hours a fortnight. The hours will typically be day shifts and the occasional weekends.

As part of a close team, you will be responsible for building healthy relationships with young people. This will be achieved through support and activities that enhance children and young people’s wellbeing consistent with goals in child intervention plans.

**To be eligible for this position you will require**:

- Relevant qualifications (certificate or higher) and demonstrated experience in working with children and/or families in relation to complex issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised with vulnerable children/young people, providing guidance, supervision and support within a set framework.
- Demonstrated ability to be a positive role model with children/young people, including engaging with children and young people and building healthy interpersonal relationships.
- A Queensland Provisional Green or Open Driver’s License.
- A current positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card), the ability to obtain positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
- Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $30.46 to $35.77 plus superannuation (dependent on qualifications and experience).
