**Youth Support Worker**

Casual

24-40 hours per week

Koorburra House are looking for dedicated & professional Youth Support Workers to join our team.

We specialize in providing 24 hour supported independent living, emergency respite care and community access support and aim to provide a warm, friendly home environment for our clients where they can learn the skills needed to live independently and to live a full rewarding life.

Youth Support Workers are required to provide day to day assistance and support to people who have a disability or are at risk in line with their support needs and identified goals.

As a Youth Support Worker, You will:

- Help a client with personal care needs i.e. feeding, showering, getting dressed.
- Accompany clients on outings
- Help our clients to learn new skills and socialize in their local community
- Assist with medication administration
- Assist in the preparation of meals
- Provide a safe environment and quality care & support for vulnerable young people and children in various types of care

To be successful you will need the following:

- Preferred Qualification is Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care) or Youth Work
- Current Blue & Yellow Card
- Current Driver’s License with own reliable vehicle (minimum third party property damage insurance)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with clients with challenging behaviours - complex care
- Current Medication Competency (highly desirable)
- Confidence and professionalism in your ability to provide client focused support
- Strong professional boundaries and the ability to follow procedures
- Ability to be flexible within your work environment and to work as part of a team
- Have access to your own portable smart device e.g. phone
- Have or be willing to attain Child Safety framework module 'Hope & Healing'.
- High level of availability with both day & night shifts

**Job Types**: Casual with potential for permanent positions

**Salary**: $30.95 - $38.08 per hour

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- Youth Worker or Lifestyle Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)

Shift availability:

- Overnight Shift (preferred)
- Night Shift (preferred)
- Day Shift (preferred)
