Smiling Mind is in pockets, classrooms and workplaces across Australia, and beyond.The Head of Fundraising is responsible for developing and executing the Fundraising and Partnerships Strategy to drive long-term sustainability through streams such as trusts and foundations, philanthropy, corporate partnerships, CSR and community fundraising activities. This role forms a key component of the Growth Function, along with Commercial and Marketing, to drive overall revenue and reach in a proactive and strategic way. This role requires big picture thinking as well as organisational skills and a detailed focus in order to raise income to fund the vision and hit significant targets.

This leadership role will work closely with senior leaders, and will lead a highly-driven and passionate team of four, plus a range of external agencies. You will also work alongside the Marketing and Communications team to produce meaningful and impactful messaging and campaigns that encourage audiences to journey towards donating. You will understand the links between and nuances of commercial and fundraising activity, thinking creatively to drive outcomes through strong ongoing relationships, inspiring communications and compelling campaigns. Your initiative, proactive nature and hands-on attitude will help to get the job done now while setting Smiling Mind up for long-term success.

ABOUT YOU:

- Proven work experience as a Head of Fundraising or a related discipline, and within a not-for-profit,
- Proven experience in sales or marketing and driving multi-channel activities through major gifts, trusts and
foundations and community fundraising,
- Ability to secure corporate partnerships and skills to develop compelling proposals and cases for support,
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, including ability to manage relationships
with donors, clients and partners, and successful connections with internal and external stakeholders,
- Strong people management skills to lead, grow, engage and nurture a diverse team to achieve targets,
- Well-developed skills in budgeting, data analysis and interpretation, and performance reporting,
- You are proactive, agile and a problem solver who looks for chances to improve, learn and grow,
- You are organised and pay attention to detail while working to multiple and competing timeframes,
- Committed to the purpose and philosophy of Smiling Mind, with a passion to change the future.
