Dfv Intake Officer

Full Time Max term contract until June 2026 | Working 35 hours per week.

- Work within within SSI’s NSW Multicultural Centre for Women’s and Family Safety (the Adira Centre) which which provides culturally responsive support to migrant and refugee women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) in South Western Sydney and—collaboratively with other services—NSW-wide.

About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Complete initial screening and assessment of enquiries to identify eligibility for the Centre’s support and/or facilitate referrals to external services. Triage eligible referrals into the Centre using internal data capturing tools.
- Work collaboratively with specialist DFSV practitioners to support casework, as needed. Provide holistic wrap-around support to women and children through general referrals, form filling, facilitating referrals, and individual advocacy and outreach support (e.g., attending court and other appointments).
- Manage the Centre’s general administrative work, including bookings and supplies.
- Support the Casework Lead in the Centre’s data collection, using internal data capturing tools, and reporting.
- Maintain an up-to-date directory of relevant services in South Western Sydney and NSW-wide for referrals and liaise with such services to facilitate referrals.
- Support the Casework Lead in developing, maintaining and updating operational procedures.

Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Services, Social Work, related field or equivalent experience
- Experience providing person-centred services to women and children impacted by DFSV
- Demonstrated experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and knowledge of barriers impacting on migrants and refugees
- Excellent administrative and coordination skills
- Knowledge and skills to ensure the provision of culturally, gender and age-appropriate services to clients
- Understanding of gender-based violence
- Excellent administrative and coordination skills
