**Full Job Description**

We are expanding our reception team and are seeking an experienced and pleasant medical receptionist to join our amazing team.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Welcoming and assisting patients with enquiries and appointments in a courteous and efficient manner
- Open and close the clinic as per set procedures
- Answering incoming calls, managing multi-phone lines and responding to telephone enquiries.
- Issue patient invoices/reciepts and Bulk bill to Medicare as required
- Daily Data entry to update patient registrations/demographics
- To exercise absolute confidentiality and discretion in all clinics and patients matters
- Liaising with various medical staff, from doctors, hospital staff, pharmacist, Allied health staff
- Deal with emergencies where necessary and follow set triage procedure.
- Accurately process patient payments via EFTPOS, cash or direct debit transactions
- Ensure patients are informed of possible delays if doctor running behind
- Ensure patients are informed of possible private fees in accordance with their appointment
- Maintain cleanliness of reception and waiting area.
- Ensure you’re your timesheet is accurate and up to date to reflect your shift.
- Support the day - to - day operations of the medical centre.

**Administration**
- Prepare and record outgoing mail (Scripts) and posting
- Open, scan and Distribute incoming mail.
- Scanning patient correspondence, results etc and allocating to treating doctors electronic inbox.
- Maintain patient information, archiving patients who no longer attend or are deceased
- Balance reciepts and banking daily

**Other Duties**
- Actively participate in general staff meetings as required
- General housekeeping
- Undertake other duties as required from time to time by the practice manager, Nurses and doctors
- Knowledge of infection control
- Consistently be aware of OHS requirements and comply with them.

- Well presented, friendly, courteous and obliging. Represent the practice in a confident and positive manner at all times.
- Have a vigilant attitude to accuracy.
- Work cooperatively and independently.

**Essential**
- Knowledge of Medical Software
- Basic knowledge MS Word and excel
- Minimum of one years’ experience in medical reception role

**Desirable**
- Knowledge of Best Practice Software
- CPR / Triage training and/or experience
- Training and/or experience in emergencies and or handling complaints
- Medicare & Patient claiming, basic infection control, safe handling and disposal of medical waste etc.

**Certification**
- COVID-19 Certificate (preferred)

On offer is excellent working conditions and the opportunity to join a passionate and family orientated team. Currently on offer would be a minimum of 10 - 25 hours per week including weekend shifts. However, it is expected from time to time that our staff will work extra shifts on occasions if this is required to deliver essential patient care.
