**The role**
The primary purpose of the Database Administrator is the design and management of the organisation's SQL databases to ensure secure access and availability in accordance with the needs of the business.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage the organisation's SQL database technology
- Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate vendors and manage these in accordance with agreed service level agreements
- Provides advice on technical aspects of database and report development
- Monitor the market to gain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging database technologies
- Drives continuous improvements and standardisation processes by developing and maintaining database policy and procedures
- Undertake complex technical investigations to resolve 3rd level engineering issues;
**You will have**
- Strong experience as a Database Administrator
- Experience in working with SQL
- Strategic business acumen and understanding of organisation strategy and ability to design database design to meet the organisation strategy
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework is mandatory
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
