**The client**

The Reynella program is supporting a twenty-four-year-old male on the Autism Spectrum in a Supported Independent Living service in a 2:1 client ratio. We will require applicants to have a strong focus on supporting complex behaviours and incident management. We are a therapeutic service and work within a person-centred, trauma informed framework. You will be responsible for the critically important task of teaching or coaching vital life-skills to enable individuals to live as independently as possible so they can achieve their individual goals. The individual within this support enjoys outdoor play with staff, engaging in sensory activities, being involved in the kitchen/cooking and engaging in day to day living skills.

**What you need to succeed**:

- Be a passionate, reliable, and dedicated support worker who is looking to grow and further develop your skills
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with others to ensure a consistent approach to enable clients to reach their goals.
- Experience in working with behaviours of concern and implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies and plans.
- Knowledge of the Autism Spectrum and effective strategies for support.
- Experience working with Allied Health teams (including Behaviour Support)
- Experience supporting clients in their homes and the community
- Experience supporting young people to develop independent living skills
- Familiarity with Active Support principles Experience or knowledge of alternative communication methods
- Experience in MAPA/SIT training is preferred.

**Essential requirements**:

- Relevant experience in managing complex behaviours
- A minimum Certificate III in Disability or Youth Work
- National Police Clearance within the last 3 months
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and DHS Working with Children Check
- All mandated doses of COVID-19 vaccinations
- Full Australian Drivers Licence
- Completion of NDIS worker orientation module
- First Aid and CPR training
- Child Safe Environment training
- Assist with Medication training
